Introduction to Biochar

Biochar, or agricultural charcoal, produced from low oxygen conditions (pyrolysis), is reported to have many benefits including improvement of soil structure, water and nutrient retention and increase in soil microbial activities. 

Join Cornell Cooperative Extension of Chemung County to learn various aspects related to biochar production and its applications.
