4-H Beef Clinic

This clinic will be for all 4-H ages and experience levels. Topics include hands on showmanship practice (animals will be provided to practice with) and other educational topics related to your beef project.

The showmanship instructor for the clinic will be Phil Trowbridge.Phil is the owner of Trowbridge Angus located in Ghent, NY.Phil is a graduate of SUNY Alfred State College where he studied animal science and participated in the college’s livestock judging team.He raises Black Angus, Red Angus and Hereford.He is a stock producer and has the region’s largest bull sale.Phil has been a beef producer for over 54 years.He has served as a past President of the American Angus Association and is also very active with the New York Beef Producers having served as Vice-President and President.

Bring a bag lunch.

If you have a scotch comb and a show stick please bring it with you.

Tentative Schedule:

10:00 – 10:15 – Registration

10:15-10:30 – Introduction by Phil Trowbridge

10:30 – 12 – Rotate through various stations

12 – 12:30 - Lunch

12:30 – 1:45 – Rotate through various stations

1:45 – 2:00 – Concluding remarks by Phil Trowbridge and completion of evaluation forms
