Shooting Sports Courses

Youth ages 8-18 (Archery) or 9 & up (Air Rifle) are welcome to sign up! The cost for these courses is $10.00 for 4-H members to cover the cost of materials. Non-4-H members are eligible to take these courses but will need to complete a 4-H enrollment form as an independent member found on our website putknowledgetowork.com and pay the $10.00 4-H enrollment fee.

Registration is due by Wednesday, May 1, 2019 (Archery) and Friday, May 10, 2019 (Air Rifle). Each course is limited to the first twelve paid participants who register. You will be notified if you are put on a waiting list. In addition to the registration form an Acknowledgement of Risk form, a permission and medical release form, and the Code of Conduct form found at http://putknowledgetowork.org/4-h-youth/4-h-program-areas will also need to be completed. The Archery I Course will occur from 6:00-8:00 p.m. on the following Mondays: May 6, 13, 20. An Air Rifle Course will be offered May 18 & 19, 1-4 p.m. at the Bath Rod and Gun Club, 7771 County Road 16 (Telegraph Road), Bath.

Youth must attend all sessions for their class.Archery Course will use the outdoor shooting range across the road from the club. Air Rifle will be using the indoor range located by the club house. All necessary equipment will be furnished, DO NOT bring equipment from home. Adults are welcome to stay the duration of the classes but not required (after double checking all paperwork is in order). The NYS 4-H Shooting Sports project fosters responsibility and helps youth acquire knowledge, skills, abilities and to develop social skills, leadership techniques and gives opportunities for community service. The lessons taught in these courses cover the basics and provide the beginning sportsman/sportswoman with a broad, sound foundation for learning the disciplines and enjoying them over a lifetime.
