Bath Winter Market

New Winter Market at Bath VA

Winter Farmers' Markets

Winter farmers’ markets are a great way for consumers to continue to enjoy locally produced foods when the warm weather ends, showcase the great local products that are available all year, help consumers continue to source healthy, locally grown food during months traditionally not associated with local food, and offer continued support to local farmers by providing customers and income during what previously was a time of low sales. Winter Farmers’ Market vendors sell local vegetables, beef, pork, chicken, breads, honey, maple, preserves, eggs, cheese, and more! Follow each market on Facebook for more information.

Bath

It was cold and very snowy outside on the opening day of Steuben County’s newest farmers’ market. The Bath Winter Farmers’ Market at the VA began in February 2015 with six local farms offering a wide variety of local products for sale. Vendors offered honey, maple syrup, micro-greens, meats, cheese and eggs, baked goods, preserves, and fruit leather all made using ingredients produced locally. Since opening, two additional farms joined the market bringing a wider variety of local meats to the market.

The market was made possible with the support of a Farmers Market Promotion Program Grant and is being coordinated by Cornell Cooperative Extension of Steuben County and the Bath VA Medical Center Wellness Committee. The Bath VA Medical Center enthusiastically volunteered their leisure room in Building 92 on the campus grounds. The market is open to the general public along with the VA staff, patients and visitors.

The Indoor Farmers’ Market at the Bath VA Medical Center is located inside the Leisure Room (Building 92), the first building on the right as you enter the medical center. This market will be held from 2:00pm to 5:00pm on Thursdays, from November through March.
