Carla Dawejko has retired from CCE Steuben with 22 years of service to the Steuben and Chemung County associations, but she continues to provide her communication skills to CCE Steuben on a part time basis. A graduate of Spencer-Van Etten, she holds a Bachelor’s of Journalism degree from the University of Missouri. Previously she provided graphics design for the Horseheads Shopper, communications and membership work for the National Soaring Museum, served as editor of the United Methodist Reporter for North Central New York, and worked as a reporter for the Citizen newspaper in Auburn, NY. She has published several articles and photos in national magazines.
At CCE Steuben Carla coordinates the communications efforts and events for the public. She created their electronic newsletter 14 years ago which is still connecting CCE with the community. She manages the organization’s website and social media and assists with printed promotions, ad campaigns, and public events. She is most proud of helping to create a community event called the Southern Tier Outdoor Show for 13 years which drew in thousands of people to Bath each fall.
Carla lives in Sayre, PA with her husband and three dogs. They have five children, 11 grandchildren, and two great grandchildren. She enjoys kayaking, camping, reading, and traveling. She got her motorcycle license and enjoys driving her trike. She is Chapter Director of her Goldwing group and provides website design work for a couple organizations.
