Kathleen Weigle joined CCE Steuben in early 2021 as a SNAP-Ed New York Nutritionist. A graduate of Elmira Free Academy, she holds an Associates Degree in LAS-Humanities and Social Sciences from Corning Community College, and Bachelor’s and Master’s degrees in Nutrition/Dietetics from Mansfield University. She has served as a Nutritionist at the Nutrition Clinic/Sol Stone Center, as a Food Service Manager for GST BOCES (Avoca/Bath/Hammondsport) and as a server at TGIFriday’s.
Katie says she is a good listener, very openminded and empathetic and able to relate to different people on many levels. All of this helps her facilitate classes and activities that provide nutrition education to lower income individuals and families for the promotion of healthy eating and an active lifestyle. Her goals are to help people – particularly to make a difference in their lives. She would also like to work toward being a registered dietitian.
Katie lives in Horseheads with her two dogs and a cat. She has two grown daughters and is very proud of earning her degrees while working two jobs as a single mom. She enjoys watching movies, playing board games, and reading.
Her compassionate, diligent, and reliable attitude help her assist in providing a community program that continues to have a positive impact on the community.
