    Let's Explore Farms in Steuben County!

    September 23, 2023


    All Farms Open at 10am

    The public and families are invited to visit Steuben farms on September 23, 2023 for a look at agriculture in our county. There will be Wagon rides, Demos, Crafts, Animals to pet, Products for purchase...and more. Please wear appropriate footwear for a farm, money to purchase goods and for some excursions if you please, and a cooler bag in case you purchase farm foods. Below you will find information on what each farm will be providing along with any costs associated with that farm.

    Crooked Line Apple Orchard

    • Fall Nature Crafts (big pond picnic tables) - Make a pretty fall nature craft to take home
    • Farm Animal visits - Meet our friendly miniature horses and donkeys as well as sheep, goats, bunnies, and chickens...pet some and feed them with the help of our animal staff
    • Pumpkin Hunt (farm) - As you visit the farm, can you spot 25 pumpkins? If you do visit the farm store when you leave for a prize!
    • Cider Making (upper garden area) - Learn how to make apple cider the old-fashioned way. Take a jar home with you today!
    • Baby Chick Hatch - Stop by the chicken house and see the eggs hatching in the incubator and learn about the life cycle of the chicken!
      • It is advised that children under 5 not hold baby chicks, and any child older should wash their hands immediately after.

      • 15-20 minutes between kiddie hay wagon rides and farm tour rides.

      • Visitors are welcome to meet our little guys and not so little ruminants who will be hard to leave:
        • Dwarf Nigerian goats – super cute and up to tricks
        • bottle-fed lambs – Brownie will train you to pet his head
        • baby chicks nestled in their brooder
        • our mama sow with new piglets! – all scurrying for their spot in the milking row
        • peacefully grazing milk cow, Amber, and miniature horse, Thunder
