Celeste Arlie, Alfonzo Zappetella, and their grandchildren began homesteading in Prattsburgh, NY in 2015, shifting to full time business in 2021.
"Our homestead started with the principles that we would grow and raise the foods we love and enjoy while nurturing the soil and creating a safe, natural environment for animals. Our mission is to raise food for our greatest health and wellbeing, while giving back to the land, animals, and community. Growing nutrient dense food and ensuring the ethical treatment of animals is our greatest intent.
We are expanding our program to include Farm-to-door services to address food security for a wider community. We grow and raise food sustainably and free of hormones, antibiotics, vaccines, chemicals, and soy. Our animals range on lush pasture in the sunshine and fresh air. The food we produce and sell to our customers is the quality and freshness we want for our family. Many people find that farm-raised meat is juicier and more flavorful.
We are in the NY state Finger Lakes Region, just outside of the hamlet of Prattsburgh, in Steuben County. We are blessed to be one of a number of small, family owned and operated farms. We grow produce with our family and local community in mind, and sell greens and vegetables at prices people can afford.
In 2023 we expanded to a pick-your-own garden, deliveries to local restaurants and Josephs Wayside Market, and participated in our first farmers market. In 2024, we added a local delivery option to the hamlet of Prattsburgh and the village of Naples, as well as an online farmer's market and farm store.
While using the resources on our farm and from our local community, we ensure sustainability while maximizing a positive environmental impact. We adhere to the principles set forth by Sir Albert Howard and fundamental farming traditions to build the soil on our land. From barn cleanings to wool pellets to green manures, the soil gets what it needs to grow nutritious, disease free, pest resistant, produce."
