When exhibits in the youth building at the NYS fair go above and beyond “excellent”, they receive special recognition – Purple Rosettes. Steuben Co. received 9 purple rosettes

State Fair Results
Swine - Steuben County had four 4-H members participate in the 4-H Swine Show. John Stierly, Canisteo Valley 4-H Stars, took Reserve Champion Novice Junior Swine Showman. Kylene Stierly earned 1st place February Spring Duroc Gilt and Sara Stierly got 1st place Spot February Spring Gilt
Dairy Cattle – Steuben County had five 4-H members participate in the youth dairy show. Jade Atherton, Blue Ribbon Roundup 4-H Club, took Ayrshire 1st place Jr. 2-year-old and Ayrshire 1st place 5-year-old; Kayla Atherton, Blue Ribbon Roundup 4-H Club, took Ayrshire 1st place Spring Yearling; Ayrshire Reserve Jr. Champion; Ayrshire 1st place Sr. 2-year-old; Ayrshire 1st place Jr. 3-year-old; Ayrshire Reserve Sr. Champion and Ayrshire Reserve Grand Champion.
Beef Cattle – Steuben County had four 4-H members participate in the 4-H Beef Show. Ainsley Robbins, Kickin Kountry Kids, took Reserve Champion Limousin Cow/Calf Combination and Champion Prospect Calf; Michelle Parsels, Howard Hillbillies, earned Champion Shorthorn Heifer; Shelby Hammond, Howard Hillbillies, earned 1st place Polled Hereford Senior Heifer.
